The area is separated from Guadalajara, (about 40 km to the north), by a a range of mountains. The airport is located on the south side of Guadalajara, about a half hour drive away.
Location: The Lake Chapala area is extremely popular with American & Canadian visitors. At 5,000 ft altitude, the climate is ideal. Air conditioning or heating is not required. The lake, (Mexico’s largest), is ringed by mountains providing ample opportunity for hiking and sight seeing.
